दी। इस खबर को सुनने के बाद श्रीमती पम्फ्रे ने अस्पताल में अंडे भेजना शुरू कर दिया क्योंकि उन्हें लगा कि
रिकवरी के बाद ट्रिकी को ऊर्जा खाद्य पदार्थों की आवश्यकता है। लेकिन मिस्टर हेरियट और उनके साथी सुबह के
नाश्ते के रूप में उन अंडों को खाने लगे।
साथ ही, ट्रिक के रक्त में सुधार के लिए, श्रीमती पम्फ्रे ने बोतलों में शराब भेजना शुरू कर दिया। लेकिन फिर
से, मिस्टर हेरियट ने उन का सेवन किया। यही नहीं, जब उसने ब्रांडी को बोतलों में भेजना शुरू किया तो

खुश हुआ और कार में कूद गया। तब श्रीमती पम्फ्रे ने कहा कि वह इस सब आश्चर्य के लिए कभी भी धन्यवाद नहीं कर
पाएगी। और उसने कहा कि उसकी सर्जरी सफल रही क्योंकि ट्रिकी अब ठीक हो गया था ।

should be given plenty of exercise. But Mrs. Pumphrey did not heed his advice. She thought Tricki was
ill and was suffering from malnutrition. She continued with giving him cakes and chocolates.

A: Mrs. Pumphrey considers him to be her child. She is so attached to Tricki that she brought him up in
a luxurious way. She overfeeds him. She gives him cakes and chocolates malt, cod-liver and bowls of
Horlicks to eat. She is caring that is why different types of all-weather beds, cushions, coats are
provided to him day and night. Due to over care and overeating, when Tricki refuses to eat his
favourites dishes and keeps lying on the floor idle, she thinks him to be suffering from malnutrition.
He calls Mr. Herriot. When Mr. Herriot tells her to admit, she finds it difficult to part from him even
for hours. However, she sends all accessories with Tricki. She calls Mr. Harriot about his health dozen
times a day. She sends eggs, cakes, wine and brandy for Tricki. She gets emotional when she comes to
take Tricki home after fifteen days. He sails into her lap. She thanks Mr. Herriot by saying it is
really a triumph of surgery. Thus, we can say that she was both loving and caring.

A: 1. Rich Lady:
She was a wealthy and resourceful woman, having many servants and maids at her home.
She had a pet dog named Tricki, whom she brought up in all luxurious way. Tricki’s diet and accessories
were world class i.e. beds, cushions, coats, bowls. She had thirty feet long car.
2. Emotional & Grateful Person:
She considered Tricki to be her son. She was attached to Tricki and took
care of him as her child. When Mr. Herriot told her to admit Tricki, she told him she cannot live
without Tricki even for hours. When she went to Mr. Herriot to take him back after treatment, she got
emotional when Tricki sailed in her lap and started licking her. He thanked Mr. Herriot by saying that
it was really a triumph of surgery.
3. Silly & Ignorant woman:
She could not understand that excess of everything is bad, be it food or
love. Her overfeeding costs Tricki heavily, he became lazy and fell ill. Paying no heed to doctor’s
advice about Tricki’s food and exercise proves this thing. Calling Mr. Herriot dozen times a day,
sending eggs, wine, brandy for Tricki are also sign of her being silly and ignorant in manners.
4. Foolish Indulgent:
On her dog Tricki, she spent lavishly. From so many beds, cushions, coats etc. to
sending for him unnecessary things in clinic proves that she was foolishly indulgent.
