Notices are effective means of communication in the modern age. They are one of the effective ways to reach a large number of persons in a short time. As such, we must be clear and brief in writing notices. Notices are like circulars. The only difference is that a circular reaches us through a messenger while we read a notice on the notice-board or in a newspaper column.
नोटिस पर सीबीएसई में 12वीं कक्षा में 3 अंक, 11वीं कक्षा में 3 अंक तथा हरियाणा बोर्ड की वार्षिक परीक्षा में 12वीं कक्षा में 3 अंक, 11वीं में 3 अंक तथा नौवीं कक्षा में 5 अंक का प्रश्न पूछा जाता है I अतः आज हम नोटिस का अध्ययन करेंगे:
A notice is generally intended for a specific section of people. The advertisement has generally a larger or bigger appeal. A notice is a formal announcement. Whereas an advertisement is bit informal with bold letters, catchy phrases, broken sentences.
A Notice is a very short piece of writing which is usually formal in style. It is a written or printed news announcement or information. It is widely used by individuals and organizations to announce events and celebrations, births and deaths, occasions like inaugurations or sales, to issue public instructions; to make appeals and to extend invitations. It can be in the form of a formal announcement of public importance. Most notices are meant to be pinned up or pasted on special boards meant for the purpose. Some notices like notices from government departments also appear in newspapers. Educational notices are displayed on notice boards in schools and colleges.

The word 'Notice’
A suitable description, caption or heading
Purpose for which it has been written e.g. meeting, an appeal etc.
Details of schedule (date, time, venue, programme, duration etc.)
Signature, name and designation of the person issuing the notice
Style and tone of the language: formal, semi formal or informal
While Writing Notice: Some DO’s
List the value points to be included.
Always prepare a rough draft first.
Check grammar and style of the language.
Ensure that word limit has been observed.
Revise it.
Prepare the final draft.
Draw the box and write the question number.
Remember:
नोटिस लिखते हुए इन बातों का ध्यान रखना है:
Notices can use capital letters for details such as names of organisations, captions, an important detail within the message itself.
The date of the notice can be placed at the top right or left.
The entire content of the notice is placed in a box.
The individual responsible for issuing the notice indicates the name below the signature in (parenthesis), followed by his/her designation.
Occasionally grammatically incomplete sentences may be used as long as their meaning is clear. Abbreviations and symbols can also be used wherever required.
Usually present tense and future time references predominate over other tense forms.
